You might of heard or seen the game called GeoGusser, firstly the computer will give you a random place and it can be anywhere in the world from Australia to the Japan. The setting is like google maps close up and you have to try and guess where you are, for example if you were in north america you would click (on the map) north america and then you click make guess and see how close you get to the target it will give you points depending on how close or far away you are if you were very close it would give you tons of points and if you were far away from the target you would get a little amount of points. You will get 5 rounds at the game and then on each round it will tell you how far you are from the target. This is a great learning game  because it helps you mind learn and think hard.

The Wiki Game

To play the wiki game you need to think fast, for example if you were trying to find the word Nero you will go to a page with blue words that are links and you have to click a word and it will take you to another page and you have to keep clicking on links until you find the word Nero or a different word that you have to find. You have to try and get the lest amount of clicks possible to win the game, if you get 10 clicks for example and you find the word you will probably come 5th or 6th because you have had a lot of clicks.

Here is a pathway to one of the words (Nero): Haripurwa → Nepal → South Asia → Indo-European languages → Roman Empire → Nero

Here is a link to the game: the wiki game

Stars Click Cards

Every person at Tauranga Intermediate School will receive a stars click card, when you receive one you will write your name, room and house on the card so you will know who's it is. There are 40 clicks on each card, if you get all 40 clicks you get a bracelet with starts on it and if you get three cards you get a stars badge. If you are being naughty you get a verbal warning from the teacher but if you are doing something good that day you will still receive a click on your card but if you get caught again you will get your name in the board (on the same day) and if you do something good the teacher will decide if you get a click or not, but if you get a cross next to your name you will not get a click. If you receive a band because you have already finished a click card you are not allowed to swap it with a different colour band with a person from another house if a teacher catches you with a different colour band you will get your band taken off you for the rest of the year. If you get a star card from one of the teachers you put your name in it, room and house and put in your house box in the library at the house hui two people will be drawn out of the rimu box by Miss Mills and will receive a voucher. If you get all your stars cards clicked you go in the draw to win a stars hoddie one  person from each house will receive one and at the end of the year Mrs Coville will draw out a name and one person will win a bike.

How to learn Indonesian

Science Fair 2013

Task
Write a recount of your Science Fair project last year under the headings. Be brief and summarise. One or two sentences on each:

Aim - To see what hair brand is the best.

Hypothesis - I think  silky  shampoo and conditioners are better than ordinary shampoo and conditioner because the silky shampoo and conditioner just have more harsh chemicals designed to clean hair.

Introduction -

I am a girl, and like most girls I want my hair to feel soft, shiny and smooth. Most of the popular hair brands are more expensive than the less used hair brands, but is the price worth paying? Do these more expensive products really make our hair softer, shinier and smoother?

Equipment & Method -Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner Nourished shine

Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner Classic clean
Sunsilk Shampoo and Conditioner Frizz & weather defence
Sunsilk Shampoo and Conditioner Addictive brilliant shine
Water

Results - My findings show that  Sunsilk Frizz & Weather Defence was the best brand for making your hair soft and silky is because it feels so soft and it lasts for up to four day.

The worst worst brand was Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner Classic clean because it didn't feel that soft and only lasted 2 day!
I also noticed that Sunsilk Addictive  Brilliant Shine was pretty good too because  it also lasted up to 4 days.

Conclusion - It was a good first science fair.

Now answer these questions
What did you do well last year? I got all the brands I needed and finished on time.
What did you find difficult last year? Typing all the information onto my laptop and getting everything onto the science fair board.

Look through the Science Fair Tab - How does the type of water you feed a plant affect its growth?

Find 2 possible topics - How does the type of water you feed a plant affect its growth?
