Waitangi Day


These people are carrying the maori flags because they want the treaty to be honoured and respected.

the treaty was signed in 1840 on the 6th of february by the maori chief  but later over 200 signed it.

most of the chiefs didn't know how to write. they used symbols and crosses. 
          
the treaty was signed in waiting which is above Auckland
